PORTLAND, Ore. — June 21, 2011 — Climate Savers Computing Initiative (CSCI), a global consortium dedicated to reducing the energy consumption of end-to-end computing, today announced that Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd has become a member of the CSCI Board of Directors. Samsung Electronics joins CSCI board members from Cisco, Emerson, F5 Networks, Google, Intel, Juniper Networks, Microsoft, and World Wildlife Fund as a leader in driving the deployment and adoption of energy efficient technologies.

PORTLAND, Ore. — December 6, 2010 — George Goodman joins Climate Savers Computing Initiative as its new executive director (CSCI; http://climatesaverscomputing.org/), leading the efforts of this global consortium dedicated to reducing energy consumption of end-to-end computing. The Initiative, founded in 2007 by industry and communication technology leaders and the World Wildlife Fund, aims to increase the energy efficiency of computing equipment, increase the adoption and deployment of power management, and shift user behavior to smart computing practices.

PORTLAND, Ore. — November 8, 2010 — In response to the growing global demand for digital connectivity, the Climate Savers Computing Initiative today launched a new industry workgroup that will develop energy efficiency targets and best practices for networking technologies. This expanded focus of the organization will include improving the energy efficiency of networking equipment such as routers, switches and connected devices that power everything from the Internet to mobile technologies.
